If it is DI related, in the mean time how about changing oil out and switch fuel to different braqand and make sure PCV is in good shape. DI engines have quite high fuel pressure too.

Yes, the oil was changed, no difference. I am using Shell premium, but will switch around with other name brands.
The dealer did replace one of the two fuel pumps, which they said was noisy. they thought that fixed it, but it didn't.
I asked them about replacing the other fuel pump, but they said that wouldn't help, which is curious.
They said replacing the pump was a $2,000 job.
I will still try to get a sound recording. Been really busy.

You're doing all the right things. Get everything in writing and keep on them until you have the signed paperwork. That should help you should you need to go past the expiration date. Keep on them and don't stop until you are totally satisfied. I think they'll help you get it resolved. Hang in there.

My independent shop used a fuel system three stage cleaner something for our 08’s previous owner recently. Car has 54k miles now.
Star Motors in San Juan Capistrano, ca. Mark is the service rep.
He maintains a lot of nice luxury cars on the expensive area we live next to...
trying to elimate possibles.
he runs 5-30 synthetic in these, car was made for 0-20w or 5-20w NON synthetic oil.

Factory oil filter will solve that problem.
I had the same problem with my LX 570 and it ran me crazy. It started when I began to use aftermarket oil filters. When I switched back to factory oil filters, the tapping stopped!!!!!!!!!
