I noticed something strange today that I haven’t noticed before in the several fuel fill-ups since purchasing the car in November. There is no fuel “flap” under the gas cap...just the long tube leading to the tank. Is this normal?
I did a search but couldn’t find anything related to this.

The smaller diameter inlet just inside the opening of the filler neck was there to prevent people from putting leaded gasoline into cars taking unleaded.
Leaded nozzles were slightly larger than unleaded ones. It was an inexpensive, genius idea to a huge potential problem which really needed a dead-simple solution.
Leaded fuel can now be commonly purchased at only small airports and possibly specialty race gasoline stations.
