Well guys, I went to get the car today after work and the car is very pretty. BUT, I did find a few things that were hidden. Like, the lower body damage that you wouldn't see unless you got down on the ground and looked. Front right
Down right side
Down the right side
Right Front
Hmmm
Just Tar at the back right

Other small stuff like the glove box is loose, and the Floor Mats are the wrong color but, over all, it's nice and worth the money. BUT, I gotta see if the No Haggle price will include fixing the damage to the lower rocker panels along the right side which will require paint. Fingers crossed. I'll find out tomorrow. The Car drives great. And looks great too.

Painting those lower sill areas is no big deal, and I’m sure Carmax will handle the leak.

I wonder what caused the sill damage? Also, seems that the transmission leak is on the same side?

looks to me as if someone drove this side over a narrow median or something.

not telling you not to buy it, just think about the scenario that caused this damage. Sill paint is not a big deal, problem is if this caused other mechanical issues. Did u do a PPI inspection at a Lexus dealer?

No, I didn't get a PPI yet. It just got to this city yesterday so I just went to check it out after work.

I don't want to travel too far down the speculation road, but sills don't get scratched like that for parking too close to the curb, if you know what I mean. The other photos of the damage only make me more suspicious, and it's evident the car was driven over *something*. The tranny mount you observed looks new (and the leak) really kill it for me.

Having said this, if you have a trusted mechanic who can inspect this and provide more clarity, that would help. I'd also push Carmax for more color on the history of the car - no guarantees it'll lead anywhere, but worth a try IMHO.

Depends on what they say today. I'm pissed that the response they gave me yesterday was, carfax says that there was no damage reported. Well, you can see the damage. Maybe it happened on the car hauler?

No, that looks like someone went off-roading - maybe went over a curb or median to avoid hitting someone. That's a dumb comment about Carfax - tell them you'll be happy to report the damage so they can adjust the price.

My guess is it’s as simple as the previous owner hitting a curb corner or something, or it could have happened on the car hauler. Had they really run over something seriously you’d see damage to the front, suspension components and elsewhere on the undercarriage.

If if it drives fine, and the mechanic says it’s fine I’d check it up to cosmetic damage
