Kinks I'm referring to were things like brake actuator, wind noise, control arms and sticky dash and door panels. I bought a very late production 2010 460L (July) and feel mine suffers from the sticky dash and door panels and I possibly have a control arm concern that I need to get investigated (hoping just a ball joint).

Nonetheless, I think if you go with a '10 and beyond you're good for the most part. A '12 would give me the most confidence but you may not be able to hit your $20k price target.

For pricing, I paid $22k this March for my non-CPO 2010 460L and felt like I got a very fair deal. It has the 19" 5 stars (like yours in picture), Levinson, but no air ride and no crazy rear seat package. It had 65k miles on it when I bought it and was in awesome shape with a perfect maintenance history. Shouldn't be too hard for you to find one around the $20k mark - I'm thinking miles may be around 75k-80k to hit that price point.

Good luck in the hunt.
See, That's the type of info I needed. Thanks Man. I'll start digging around for a 2012 instead.

So what exactly are the differences in exterior styling between the 07-09 and the 10-12? The turned signals would be nice but should not be a deal breaker and i actually prefer the old front bumper vs the new one. Are there any other stand out difference?

Different front end entirely, different wheels. Different trunklid, taillights, rear bumper. Signal

I saw that thread while I was shopping and while I can appreciate the subtle and not so subtle changes most ppl will not even notice most off them except the front bumper, wheels and turn signals but to each their own. It's whatever makes you happy. I started at the top of my budget debating on a 13-14 and could not find an L so I went down to 10-12 stayed there for a lil while then went back to looking at the 13-14s. I even considered flying to Texas which had an L with rear seat package but the internet sales woman was not very receptive to my inquiries once I told her I was on the east coast. My search lasted 2 months.I eventually picked up my 07 and saved 20k in the process. It was the prudent thing for me to do. The only thing I really would have appreciated in the 10-12 is USB and bluetooth streaming but I do have a Yatour device connected that retains steering wheel controls but no artist info which cost me $79 and I just transferred it from my 430. So yes a 10-12 is nice but IMO don't shy away from the 07-09.

I like the older tail lights better without the wavy orange signal.

I'm still looking for a Silver L Model. Man these are hard to come by with a light interior. 2008 - 2012 is my target. Keep me in mind if you guys spot one. I miss my car.

I'm checking all of the usual sites, autotrader, carsdotcom, carguru, ebay, craigslist, and the newspapers. I'm on it. It's been a month but, I expect to see one that will be available in my price range in the next month or two. Gotta be patient.

The one you posted? It has ML.

MARK LEVINSON DVD CHANGER: CD/DVD changer w/DVD audio & video playback, 450-watt reference surround sound audio system, (19) speakers, 7.1 channel architecture,
Those are also stock pictures, so I would confirm the wheels, thats a highly optioned car. Anyways wheels can be replaced, I wouldn't pass on a good car because of the wheels...

That interior is also not the grey which is listed in the specs, thats the alabaster interior.
