It was probably good time value-wise to trade in the AWD; lot's of demand for those now maybe. You might try some Blizzaks for the winter. I had those on my RWD MB E320 and they worked like a charm.

Sorry to hear that Steve. I think I remember you saying at some point that Lexus customer service has gotten worse than it was years ago. This situation would confirm that assessment.

I'll get something out of it, raised hell with the salesman. I'm basically paying lease payments and insurance on a car pro-rated that I don't have delivery of. If it was "just a couple days" thats one thing, but for the guy to not have even picked it up a week after I signed the papers and made the payment, thats not acceptable.

I checked in twice for updates too to make sure it was on track for today and was assured it was. Imagine my shock when today I found out it hadn't even been picked up yet!

This is just a massive shrew-up by the salesman at this dealership. I am sure this will count against his performance, but you cannot hang it on Lexus Corporate or any other Lexus dealer.

Given that Steve is already making payments for the car, he will figure out a solution that compensates him for his troubles

Looks like emptying your car DID jinx you. Sorry for the frustration. Nothing that a nice set of Exhaust Vents won't help take the sting out of though. I think you'd be surprised how much having an imposing sound (that's not overly loud) adds to the imposing look of the L. To each his own.

I *accidently drove an AWD once when I was shopping 460's. Accidently, meaning I nor the salesman realized it was AWD prior to taking the test drive. I could hear drivetrain noise (granted it was NOT bad, I could just distinguish it), and new something was up. When I parked it back at the dealership, between all the yammering of the salesman, I managed to see where it was indicated that it was AWD. Can't remember what I saw, but it was marked (door jam maybe?). It was a used car.

When you get your new L out on the interstate and up to speed, let us know if you feel more sound isolated also. Hope you get is SOON.

Wow, sorry to hear that they haven't even picked it up yet. That is frustrating! I can understand if it was delayed in transit because of weather conditions, but not to at least be in process is no excuse. I can imagine them coming up with some lame excuse like they lost the key or something. I can't even tell you how many times I've heard that when waiting to test drive a car. I'm sure it will be worth the wait when it finally comes in!

I'll think of something to ask for.

Probably just as well, we had a nasty ice storm here yesterday...

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise since you don't want your first day of driving a RWD to be during/after an ice storm. It will be warm here the rest of the week, so you shouldn't have any weather related troubles when it finally comes in.

Due to the ice storms and winter, I got a heck of a deal on a one owner CPO Lexus convertible with only 7,000 miles bought in Boston and shipped west to me

Congrats on your new LS. I am holding out for the 500 myself

Yeah that was my strategy. Shopped all over the country. Saved $6800 buying in the NE. Spent $1100 shipping it.
