Thanks guys! Believe it or not I’m heading to work in the Pacifica. Can’t bring myself to drive it pretty and clean in the rain when it’s going to be nice tomorrow lol

Steve - As for the tint, my vote is to go as dark as you can. It will look AWESOME with the silver. Interesting info on the AWD vs RWD sounds. I only had the one experience. With that one experience all I could distinguish was drivetrain noise. Sort of sounded like it was coming from underneath the driver's area. I don't know if the AWD system uses a transfer case or what. But I always assumed it was something related to that. Still interested if when you are driving the new one in steady state, like cruising along at 60 mph, do you notice the RWD is quieter?

And ... as far as the Exhaust Vents go, they make the startup sound AWESOME (compared to the stock sound).

Congrats, Steve. The car looks gorgeous. Looking forward to more pics, of the interior!

I have black interior and 35% tint (legal limit in MO) on all windows. It's fine. I was hoping to go darker, but since the rear windows have the retractable shade, it was not a big deal. The difference between 30 and 40% tint that you are debating would be hard to tell.

Congrats on the car. The AWD/RWD observations are interesting, you might notice the extra power/acceleration more if you were comparing both standard wheelbase cars. I can't believe dealers still slather that greasy sticky shiny smelly armoral crap on interiors and think that makes them look better.

What Alabama dealership did you get it from?

Good call! The car is beautiful! My parents have gone as far as ordering a new car even if the dealer has the same one on their lot just to avoid having the front plate holes drilled. It's illegal here in CA to not have a front plate, so it's hard to find dealers who don't pre-drill the holes.

FWIW, as I have posted previously, my 2008 460L was noticeably more powerful than two brand new SWB AWD 460s (2011 and 2012) I drove at different times. Quieter and way smoother (the latter arguably due - in great part - to air suspension). Even my wife noticed the power difference, and she is not as attentive to that as I am.

The feel of the steering is something I do not recall paying attention to/noticing, so it is a very interesting observation.

Was the 460L a RWD and the SWB's awd?

Sorry... wrote too quickly! 2011 and 2012 were AWD. For 2008 I didn't say because there was no AWD available on the 460 until MY2009.

Thanks guys!

The armor all is pretty common in the south. When I was looking around for cars I noticed a lot of new cars in the south had armor all all over the interiors. This car has "Permaplate", perhaps it was part of that treatment? Luckily it all came off.

The owner of my car armoraled my car too when I bought it including the leather, looked disgusting. First thing I did was wash that crap off when I got home.

Couldn't they at least use 303 instead?!

Steve, Congrats on your new car! I second that I'd loved to see interior pics when you get a chance. Also, give us feedback on your experience with the RWD, coming from an AWD. We're in the same state and although we don't get a ton of bad weather, sometimes we can have bad winters. Who knows?! I'm shopping for an AWD and my hubby is trying to convince me that it's not necessary for the few days a year that I might use it, but I want the peace of mind. Interested to know your take after going through this upcoming winter. Enjoy your new ride!

At long last, the sun is out and the roads are gloriously clean after the torrential rain yesterday washed off all the salt...so I have pics:
