2007 ls460l 51k $18,500
Upgrading my 2007 SWB to a 2007 LWB. Checking it out this weekend. Thoughts on the price and overall value? From the pictures and talking to the owner, seems to be in excellent condition. Backed out of a 2010 LS460L with 115K with way less options and a giant dent on the bumper for $14,000. I feel good about the decision and happy to be finally making a post here! Listed the options coming with my 2007 LS460L!

I just made a similar purchase.......after looking at three LS460s I feel I did ok. The L trim is out there but it seems most have well over 100K on the odometer (they do go a long time if serviced properly) and the vast majority of these Gen 4 cars have been dealer serviced, so theres documentation of the maintenance. Like you, I passed on three 460Ls as the body was a bit beat up and I understand its an 07 or 08, but $15-20 grand is full retail. I think you will be happy with your L and its a good car for you for many miles to come!

Depends what your car has for mileage, are you going to trade it in, sell it? I'm always of the thought that you know how your car was maintained, and what is wrong with it, a different car not so much. You'd have to do a real good pre purchase inspection on it. How's the service history? Check Lexus drivers for the history and recalls.
Why the change to the L?

An upgrade imo would be a 2010+ L460 with upgraded Nav. The low mileage is very attractive. Price is steep for an 11 yr old car but that is what they go for these days. I'd try to find a 2010+ with under 100K miles for $18K budget

Yeah, I went with this car because it was really well kept outside of one small paint chip and a small scuff in the interior. I really like that it is fully loaded with the low miles. Could you share the specfic details of your purchase? Just really curious.

Yeah it’s been really hard finding a car in good condition with that mileage. This car was garage kept and has meticulousl service records. I saw a similar ls on Carmax but with a touring package minus many of the other options my car has for 24,000. My biggest draw was that I felt like I could trust that this car was very well taken care of.

Well, I love the extra room for family and friends. I’m mainly drawn to the excellent condition and low miles. It’s tough to find an older LS in this kind of condition for what I felt was a fair price. I’m selling my car with 156k miles. The exterior of car is dinged up and an airbag issue came up for my passenger side which is expensivetoFix. Hoping to sell for a decent price and reset.

Sounds like your car will sell for $6k-$7K. Are you aware Air shocks go for around $700 a piece vs $100 for regulars shocks? The bottom line is that you are buying an 11 year old car and will spend $20K if the seller does not budge on price and registration & tax cost etc alone.
You have to be honest with yourself and factor all those cost when "upgrading" but then again there isn't anything out there that matches an LS460 for that price range.

I actually don’t think my car will sell for less than 10,000 have gotten a lot of inquiries at 12950. But yeah, I agree but like you said, I don’t think I’m going to get a better used car for that price. How often do shocks need to be replaced? I was under the impression 75,000 miles or so? I’ve got a friend who works on my car at Toyota dealership after hours and is a big reason why I’m less hesitant about taking on used cars.

KBB "fair value" for private sale at 150K+ miles for an 2007 says $9-$11K. Not sure if you can sell yours fast enough to get the L. It might be gone before you can even look at it.

Yeah I have it posted at that price and with negotiations will assume it will come down to 11500-1200 and I said I expect it go down to 10k. I don't think many people expect to sell anything used at their asking price. Your car is only worth what the market is willing to pay for, and in Oakland, CA the market doesn't seem too bad. Thanks for the hot tip.

Already have the deal made. Just making sure everything with the vehicle checks out before I wire the money over!

I think it's a good deal to make and do consider the L and upgrade. Could the deal be better? Of course but it is what it is and it would be nice to have a 10-12 but I could not find a lot of those in the L version. I think ppl make too big a deal of some of the minor differences btw 07-09 and the 10-12. If you want the real upgrade you have to go with the 13+ IMO. Then again I'm coming from a 400 but my 07 is plush.
