no worries! i am constantly getting comments from friends on my Kuda when they think it is a factory option, so glad to talk about this again!

There are no wires coming to this stand at all. this is simply a holder, and you can plug your phone in with another cord. I know have the BlackBerry Z30 so i have to turn it upside down when it's plugged in. LOL!

Also a good time for a follow up on my Proclip.

Love it. I like that my arm can rest on the console as I input info into my phone. Also, in easy reach of my aux cord and charge cord which I have stored in my console box and are retractable, keeping them hidden.

Can you share some pics of your setup?

Default Cell Phone Holder Solution

I just wanted to share my experience with a cell phone holder solution in my LS460. I looked at the other popular options but I didn't want to spend too much. I ended up with a Koomus holder from Amazon. It's only about $20. If you do a search on Amazon for "Koomus CD-Air CD Slot Mount" you'll find it.

It basically slides into the CD changer slot and secures itself there. The arm articulates with a very generous range of motion. I maintain full use of the CD changer but it will inhibit putting in or taking out CDs without taking the holder off first. The holder allows very convenient access and viewing angle since it sits above the CD slot. The mount is very sturdy. In the last month it has only fallen out once and that was at the beginning when I was constantly moving the arm around as I was getting comfortable with it.

Some things to consider are that if you're someone who needs to put in and/or eject CDs on a regular basis then this won't work well for you. Also, depending on the size of your cell phone, some of the climate control buttons and CD/radio buttons are obscured. You can easily rotate the cell phone holder to get better access but you won't get full access. I haven't found this to be a huge problem because I don't play with those buttons that often.

See my pics below. The phone in the holder is my Samsung Note 4 so it's as big of a cell phone as it gets. I've include pics from various angles, one with my hand on the shifter so you can see how close it gets to the cell phone, and one pic of the holder with no cell phone in it at all. Hope this helps someone.

Glad it worked for you. I had one and found it blocked and obscured too much - some of what you mentioned and also the displays on the climate control as well as buttons for the cd changer, SAT and AM buttons, etc. That's why many of us here have gone to the Proclip and Kuda custom fit mounts for Lexus. You do spend more, but they will last a lifetime and are well made.

Yeah, I figure if it doesn't work then $20 isn't much to risk. Now that it's getting cold out in my neck of the woods and I'll be accessing my climate controls more often I may find it too obstructive. We'll see. I don't use the radio/CD controls much so that's not a huge issue. There's still always a chance I'll go the Proclip route.

Beautiful set up. I am intrigued by the mirroring of the Android phone using iVIC6D. Are you able to use Google maps? The video on the Vaistech website for iPhone mirroring shows them using a different app.

Yes, everything my phone does I can do it on my screen. Everything! Youtube, internet, video files, pandora, yelp etc etc etc. I love it, by far my favorite mod to my car to date!

Google Maps too, correct?? This is good to know. Because the iPhone mirroring/integration on iVIC6 is not as nice. It looks more like Lexus Enform. I wonder why...

Is there a VAIS techie on CL who can answer these questions?

Absolutely Google maps works great. Traffic info without the subscription is great.
