best way to mirror iphone or music

Have you used CarPlay? I manly get that question from my friends with Android phones who have not experienced it. I like Apple Maps; far superior to the Lexus Nav alternative that would otherwise occupy the screen. The Music and Messaging apps within CarPlay is what really shine, and are what I use most. Both are controlled flawlessly with voice, unlike Lexus’ voice command. I have tried Google Maps and Waze running native on the Grom. It is a single key press to toggle out of CarPlay and into either. In my case I’d have to first hotspot my phone to the Grom so it has a data connection and/or install offline maps, and unless I’m on a long road trip, it is just not worth the trouble. The Vine specs are not great which is why I had suggested waiting for a VL2, but with CarPlay the phone is doing the heavy lifting with the VLine just mirroring the screen so despite the spec it works quite well, which is why I use it.

I am an iPhone user and was hungering for Carplay. But I prefer Google Maps to Apple Maps any day, so Carplay won't do anything for me. I still haven't explored using voice commands for controlling apps, so the benefits of Carplay over Enform are lost on me. I mostly listen to podcasts and have a dedicated phone with my music collection, so using Music apps on the fly is not important for me. And I don't text or message while driving. For my needs, mirroring the iPhone was very important. I thought Carplay would be the way to go, but to me, it seems like just a slightly better implementation than Enform. I installed a Beatsonic mirroring kit, and am very happy with the results. I can listen to my podcasts and get Google Maps on my Nav screen along with voice directions through the car's audio.
