Seat heater works then blows cold air
I have a 2008 LS 460 with 145,000 miles and my seat heater works initially but then cuts off after approximately 10 minutes and only blows cold air out. Does anyone have any ideas of what may be wrong?

I don't know if the 2008's are like my 2013, but if you have it in Auto, it does whatever it thinks it needs to do to help. Usually that means heating the seat when I first get in on a cold morning and then turning off at some point. Although I have had it think it needs to cool the seat for me at times when I'd prefer it not do so. Its based on some calc between the air temps inside and out and what you have the climate control set for.
So that being said and assuming you have Auto, might try kicking it to manual heat and see if it does it still.

My '08 has just recently started doing the same thing. There's no "auto" switch. on the heated seats.

Turn your seat heater to maximum heat for minute or two, then to maximum cool for about the same time. That may solve your problem.

I reluctantly tried what you suggested and believe it or not, it really helped! The seat stayed hot twice as long as before. It did go cold again but after cycling through the cold cycle, it got hot again. Why does this work and any other suggestions?

+1 on wanting to know why that works. That's just weird.
