Does it track like a freight train and feel better the faster you go like the older ones? I read a MT article that the "Botts' dots" in California it can't even smooth those out.
It feels more like a Panamera or an A7/S7, MB GLS than it does a car like an S Class or 7 Series. Thats not to say it rides poorly, it rides very well theres just clearly been an adjustment made that prioritizes dynamics at the expense of ride comfort. whereas in a flagship sedan that priority is reversed

I would say all those cars I mentioned track great and feel better the faster you go, but they're different. Does that make sense? The LS500 is a great car, its just not a great "LS".

I would agree that no matter how good Kia's cars might be, you'll never get me near my local dealer. Their yelp reviews are hilarious. https://www.yelp.com/biz/kia-of-cher...Kia+Dealership
With Genesis they will pick up and deliver the car and not require you to come to the dealer. But certainly when you DO go to the dealer its nothing like a Lexus dealer.

If you're looking used then, I would seriously consider a late LS460L with air suspension, or an S550, 7 too but you said you didnt care for that. The previous generation A8 is much firmer than the all new A8.

Its interesting, the germans are getting softer and Lexus is getting firmer.

Haha, I appreciate that!

I agree. This should be added to

LS460 | LS460L | LS600hL FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) and DIY Thread

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...iy-thread.html

Not sure how to ask mods to do that.

Thanks Steve for taking time to share the experience and knowledge.

!
Part of the problem is there aren't many of these unicorns (unless Steve, you want to sell yours ). By that, I mean a LWB with air suspension - I'm in the Dallas area and I did a nationwide search, came up with less than 10 specimens. I did restrict my search to RWD (I don't need AWD) though.
Here is a L/Certified exec seating package 17 with 12k miles at $60k....you could find a pre-owned 18 LS with air suspension for about the same price however.

There should be relatively plenty of nice late pre-owned 460s around....not sure where you're located.

Forget all the Lexus CPO BS, just verify it's been serviced via Lexus.com and make sure it hasn't been wrecked and viola!

Nice!!!! Yes forget the ripoff CPO crap, just make sure the car was cared for and serviced, and not in any serious accidents.

I may end up with a late 460 one day, maybe maybe not. The ole' 430 shows no signs of slowing down.

IMHO when it comes to purchasing a luxury car my preference was towards getting it fully loaded with all the must have options (LWB, ML, upgraded leather, PCS, ect.). Why not run the flag all the way to the top of the flagpole on the Lexus flagship? Production numbers for loaded models are nonexistent but they are out there. I found my unicorn out in the sticks, which I realize was pure luck.
It would be a blast to order a new LS equipped EXACTLY the way you want it, but the rapid deprecation would take to much of the fun out of it for me.

Haha, can't have mine yet!

I wouldn't worry about the AWD. Having had both, I would get another AWD without hesitation. Even if you don't need it, if you have to take AWD in order to get the LWB and the air suspension thats a no brainer.
