Hello gents .. just picked up this beautiful 07 LS 460 .. but have no clue what this is ? I'm thinking previous owner had a radar maybe ? Can't b a phone ..woudnt make sense such a short cable and weres it placed at
Thanks fellas .. so is it possible to use for other types of radar besides vanlentine ? Im in South Jersey ..30 mins outside Philly
Valentine use that proprietary phone jack connector, but you could remove their cable and replace it with a different one. I've never seen one coming from that location, though. Most people run the cable where it can't be seen,
Probably not with that connector. That's an RJ-11, A.K.A. a telephone connector. They're large, but because of the design, the connections, when latched, are rock-****in'-solid.
The V1, and mine is now 18 years old, still 100%, is amazing. Mike Valentine is the master of detectors.
I've owned every one of his Escort designs, until the end with Cincinnati Microwave. Even had a Passport for a while, until it was stolen. But when he left and started his own company, he took a VERY long-term and loyal following with him.
You might surf CL for a used one. Beware, they keep their value remarkably well.

I've had my V1 since 1994. I haven't used it in years, mainly because the revenue limit was raised to 65mph on my work commute, so I wasn't in lose-your-license territory every morning. I really should get it upgraded.
Yeah, I ran a final-gen Valentine Escort, the small one, until I was tagged for a rather expensive citation in Utah on a competitive motorcycle rally (we're talking at least 1,088 miles in 24 hours, but that was merely to finish, to place, add 300-500 more).
He got me with Ka, so it was time. 74 in a 55.
I remember him saying, "it's only 65 out there", pointing past the 'city' limits where it dropped to 55. We'd been seriously moving, for a while, in the middle-of-nowhere, and I almost blurted out, "but I did slow down!"
...and I had, from about a 92-97 MPH cruising speed. It's amazing how slow even 60 MPH feels after a couple-few hours of way extra-legal speed.
Upgrades...I should look to see what mine is missing, and if I want it tweaked. 1994, my hat, it is off to you, sir.
Those of you who haven't been out to UT/NV/MT/ND/SD cannot imagine low triple-digits being anything but horribly fast, but it's not out there. Hours between little-bitty towns, and you might not see another vehicle for an hour, going either direction.
Had to take some pictures, as I've had this mount about a year, and I love it!
My apologies for the first pic being a blurry, potato picture. It looked fine on my telephone, but on a real screen...um...yeah.
Used to be, I was concerned about the detector being visible from behind, but not only is that a potential risk only at night, but I also have tint. This car, Silvia (she's been named!!!!) is rarely parked in outside of either a double layer of electrified 10' tall fence, topped with razor wire, and patrolled by very well-armed police...or at home in the garage.
She's probably safer at work, honestly. Though not from weather damage, what with me living in the land of hail/tornadoes.
