This repair is specifically outlined in the TSB as being covered by the powertrained warranty. I’m assuming it’s a note to the dealer as to how to charge the repair back to Lexus.

Just took it in for our 65k service and they checked it, heard it, and fixed it. I'd say the replacement part procedure outlined in the TSB reduced the whine by about 60%.
When you can hear it, it does sound more to the front of the car rather than directly under the center console.

I had the tranny whine on my 2013 L repaired under the TSB a few months ago and it has helped considerably. I drive ~500 miles a week and the whining was driving me nuts. I can barely hear it now and only when I listen for it with the radio turned down. I was contemplating selling before the repair. Now, I have forgotten all about it. It’s no longer an issue. If anyone is thinking about getting the repair, you have nothing to lose but the whining.
