Default Use Cruise Control With PCS Warning Light ON

Dear All,
how can we use cruise control system while PCS warning light is appearing in Cluster Meter ? I've Purchased LS460 and i cannot use the cruse control. it always says that check PCS System. i scanned through diagnostic tool and i found the code "B2090 ACC/LKA/PCS SYSTEM MALFUNCTION". is there any way to use cruise control without fixing this ?

Thanks

Have you tried turning on the CC and then push the CC-lever forward for 3 seconds?
This will turn off the radar-CC.

I know that in snowy weather (here in Chicago the last few days) when the front of the car got plastered with slush and such to the point of covering the sensors, I would here a few beeps and my PCS light would flash slowly. The console would indicate that the PCS is disabled, and to clean the sensors or take the car to the dealer. Something along those lines. It even indicated which sensors and in my case was the front center and front right. When I switched off the park assist, the PCS light went out. I wiped off the sensors and it was fine. If its throwing an error code, I'm not sure any function that uses the Pre Collision System (PCS) would work (Laser Cruise, Park assist, etc.)

Hi.
my car is clean from front and the radar sensor is clear. what do you think is it because of the radar grill (that lexus monogram) or due to something else ? is there anyway to find out ?

Hi,
I have a similar problem on my 2007 LS600h (although likely for a different reason) and still need to fix it, haven't gotten around it yet, but what I can tell you is (unless I'm mistaking)
the B2090 code is just the generic one that is displayed from the Pre-Crash 1 ecu and should come with one or more different codes visible in techstream, I found them in the Pre-Crash 2 ecu on mine.

For example that's what my Pre-Crash 2 ecu displays after my wires melted (long story short: a hole on the exhaust melted everything above it) the technician isn't even sure if I have to replace the ECU or the rear radar sensor or both, I'm guessing the ecu given all those codes, and it's bloody expensive:

Here's some description of the possible codes you can get:

The ECU itself is an absolute pain to get to apparently, on a left hand drive it's basically to the left of your feet and requires several panels and an airbag to be removed. Unless I was given the wrong part number, the driving support ecu number should be 88150-50030 (around 2k, though I was able to get one used for a fraction of that), though I'd confirm that with a mechanic, I'm not even sure I can change it myself given that the procedure isn't made easy.

As for deactivating the Pre-Crash system entirely, I'm not really sure how or if this can be done to begin with. Hope this helps.

Hi Yannick, you can easily turn off the PCS by pushing the PCS button underneath the dash. Here's page 233 from the 2008 600hL manual.

Thanks, but doesn't that still display the "PCS not available now" warning on the dashboard?
