Needing new summer tires, and there is a 2 day sale this weekend, $230 worth of rebates. They have P7's and also Stradas. I asked the difference, and he told me the P7's were being phased out, and the Strada is the newer version sold by DT. He claims that the rubber compounds are more up to date, the P7 was an older design. Hoping the Stradas do as well as the P7 were always talked about here. very similar prices, $4 different per tire. Specs seem to match. One is all season plus, other is all season. Picking them up today for installation in a few weeks.

He's full of it. Its just a different tire - the Strada is a Discount Tire house brand. The new P7 Plus is not being phased out. The old P7 has been gone for a long time. I'm sure they make more profit on their house brand Strada than on the P7 Plus. If I recall corectly, the P7 Plus warranty is longer than the Strada(?)

Just like wholesale clubs have tires specifically manufactured for them...BJ's, Costco...

Info I found from other forums says that they are very similar, the Strada doesn't have as much of the fuel economy compound as the P7 plus, but may do slightly better on wet/dry braking performance. I will update this as I go.

I'm sure they are very similar, but I would buy what we have a lot of experience with personally. Even slight changes in a tire can really impact its performance characteristics.
