Tell me your thoughts on the LS460 vs LS430. I'm probably going to step up to the LS460 in another year or so just not sure which one if I do. I like the interior on the 2007 - 2012 but like the exterior of the 2013+, I'm one of those that really like the spindle front grill. However, there are times I think, man the LS430 is a really great running reliable car and I should drive it for at least another 5+ years. Not sure I can do that though, I usually change out my cars every 5 years or so.

Congrats on the car- looks very nice. Another successful conversion from a 430 (lots of us on here). I was reluctant to move away from my 430 but that feeling faded after about a week of owning the 460. Hope you enjoy.

congratulations on the Sport model. i have been drooling over this model for a long time and i am looking for a really clean example. my 2004 GS was recently totalled and i figured it would be best to upgrade. some feed back on the 8 Speed paddle shift transmission would be great! how much did you pay for it if you dont mind me asking? i realize the market on the sport models varies a lot depending where in the US the car is located.

I really love my 430 and it has been a great car. It is so reliable and I hope to get the same out of the 460. There are several similarities between the two cars like location of controls and the styling on the interior but that's about where it ends. Now my experience so far could be different because I have a sport but I believe the 430 is smoother and much quieter than the 460. The 430 transmission shifts smoother. The ride in the 460 is much firmer but the acceleration is quicker. The 460 handles corners better and takes the bumps. Again, could be because of the sport suspension. The technology is night and day. I love the Bluetooth audio feature that the 430 doesn't have. The 460 has auto closing doors which is nice. Now my 10 yr old doesn't have to slam the door and I don't have to worry about him not closing it all the way. It just gently pulls it shut if not closed fully. This color combination inside and out was really my dream combo. I knew I could only get it in the sport but I was willing to go non sport in black/black if necessary.

I looked at 2013 model yrs and just kept going back to the 2010-2012 era. Plus the price was more in line with what I wanted to spend. The car was listed for $20350 through an independent dealer in ATL. Because it did not have a spare in the trunk and was missing a key fob I was able to negotiate to $19,000 + tax ect. I was able to pull all the service history from Lexus drivers site and it was serviced it's entire life at Lexus of Sarasota/Clearwater FL.

I'm already finding put that the service and everything that goes along with the 460 is much more expensive than the 430. I guess you gotta pay to play.

I have played a little with the paddle shifters. My first thought is i wish they were on opposite sides of the steering wheel. I use it more to downshift instead of using the brakes like when exiting the highway or slowing down in traffic. The reaction time is a little slower than I would like. It still beeps at you if you try to downshift too low.

I love the paddle-shifters in my 2013 F Sport. I'm regularly up and down a 27-mile mountain highway that goes from 1500 to 7400 feet. I put the shifter in "S" mode that gives me full control which results in using the brakes minimally. Around town I'll leave the shifter in "D" and use the paddles for slowing or coasting sometimes. Wish my 2005 Corvette had them as well.
