Default Hazy look on black interior

My middle console has a hazy or waxy look that i am having problems removing. I stopped short of scrubbing it as i don't want to damage the soft finish but i tried a few different interior cleaners.
I dont typically put any surface treatment like armor all in this area, its not from anything from a passenger, and its not hit with any UV. The other surfaces that have the same texture do not have this haze. Its not sticky, it just looks dried out or chalky.

Anyone else have this going on? Any idea on how to deal with it and get it back to black?

If I had to guess you have an early model 460? If so check out these threads. Some years were covered by Lexus.

Thanks for the reply. I have a 2010 and Im not sure its the same issue. The plastic is not sticky and the affected area is not in direct sunlight.

Try some woolite and water and a mild brush and try some gentle scrubbing preferably on a area that is not very visible and see if there is any difference. Unfortunately I don't think it is going to work and those light hazy areas are not going to go back to black or its original color because the color has faded from the interior/dash/panel melting issue that affects some(too many) LS's. Once it can be confirmed that it is not something on your dash I would contact Lexus corporate and tell them your issue and complain, this should not be happening on these cars and owners should not have to pay thousands of dollars to rectify it.

Looks like the previous owner used an overly abrasive cleaner. Try applying this as it might save you some big bucks.

Get this stuff at a Toyota dealership. I have a couple of bottles for detailing jobs. I planned to get more but there seems to be a supply shortage! Now prices are starting to creep up everywhere !

I would try this stuff and stay away for the silicon based products.
The reviews are awesome. I use this on the vinyl, plastic and leather in my Vintage Alfa.

It's called 303 Aerospace Protectorant
