Default A long time LS lover finally looking to get a 4th Gen (2007 or 2008).

All,

It is good to post after a long long while. I believe I have been a member for more than a decade now.

Anyways, I drove 1st to 2nd to 3rd generation LS in the past and now look to own a 4th gen. This is truly "Lexciting" for me
I love the 2013 and on facelift version but as this is going to be just my second car (a sort of project car although I only care about the cosmetics), not looking to spend more than $20k at this point.

A local dealer has a 2007 LS SWD with about 90k miles on it. In great condition with good records but had an accident in the rear bumper (said it was a minor but repaired through insurance). They want $15k plus taxes for it. What do you think? The car looks to be in very good condition. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Again, good to be back to the forum and looking forward to sharing and contributing. Thanks.

My 2007 was very mildly tapped in the rear in a parking lot. The woman's front bumper somehow punched a small hole in my rear bumper. Could not be unrepaired due to the material used in the bumper, the whole bumper had to be replaced. The crack auto body shop I used replaced and painted the bumper and to this day I cannot tell. If the repair was this good, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you for your input. I still remember your handle!

By the way do you think the price is fair? Seems a bit high by 2 grand or so.

With $20K budget, I'd look for a 2010 with refresh or an L version. Depending on the option $15K for a 2007 is a good price.

$15k is not bad. I was keeping an eye on an '07 that was advertised at $17,900 for at least five months at an Acura dealer, and I guess it finally sold. It had no ML or any other expensive options, but did have only 62k miles and was in great shape.

I test drove an '08 at a local Infinity dealer. The price had dropped to just over $18k before it sold. It was in decent shape apart from a damaged rear bumper and trunk lid, and only had around 48k miles on it. No ML or other expensive options.

I also came across a couple of mint LS 430s while I was looking. They both had low miles (in the 60-65k region) and looked like new. One was at a dealer for $16k for a while...don't know what it sold for. The other was a UL sold on Craigslist. He wanted $14k for it, and the ad was taken down within 24 hours.
