Default Mechanical key problem

So I just bought a 2010 460. The mechanical key in the key fob will not insert into the key lock on the door. The key will go into the trunk lock and open the trunk. I have tried to insert the key into the drivers and passenger door lock but it will not slide in. Has anyone else had this issue?

Hmmm, maybe the cylinder & key to the trunk were replaced and that's the only key you have?

It is my understanding that there is a cover over the mechanical key slot on the driver's door and that the cover needs to be removed before the key can be inserted. Is it possible that you are trying to insert the key into the slot that is used to remove the cover?

Here is a link to the 2010 LS460 Owner's Manual - check page 733: http://drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/do...f/OM50B55U.pdf

The above link is a PDF and takes a while to load.
