Alternatively, FWIW, I use Xpel film along the door edges (on the LX). It's perhaps a bit more costly, but I like that it's virtually invisible. My wife and kids are pretty careful, but just in case...

You can buy any number of protective films to go along the door edges. My recommendation would be to take it to a window tint/clear bra shop. They will be able to apply a custom PPF to the edges for you.

Yeap, I do have xpel door edge guard on my LS. In my previous LS I had 3M. Compared to 3M, xpel, is easy to install. Both provides invisible look.

You need to prioritize.
Sell the kids - divorce the wife - buy new LEXUS.

You probably got better at installing them the 2nd time.

OP, you could potentially put a little touch up paint on those chips and then cover the edges with PPF. Let me know if I can recommend an installer or if you would prefer to find the parts for a DIY install.

If you install the Lexus door edge guards do yourself a favor and obtain a printout of the directions from a dealer. Directions will not come in the package. I was amazed at how detailed the directions are when I installed the Toyota door edge guards on my Sienna. Yes remove the wax, I used a 3M product made for bumper sticker removal to do this-picked it up at pep boys. The directions also called for hitting the guards with a mallet in specific areas in a specific order. Last but not least the directions required cutting out what amounted to a paper guide to tape to the door handle in order to be exact with the location of the guard. These have been mounted on my Sienna for three years without a hitch.
