Tundra 5.7 liter 3URFE swap into 2007 LS460
I'm determined to get a 3URFE Tundra engine into my '07 LS460 base car. Increased torque output is the primary motivator, other than just having a car with "something a little different." I'd like the advice and counsel of any others who have tried this, or have pertinent FACTUAL information about the swap. Thanks in advance.

The challenge may not be the mechanical side of the work. The challenge will be porting over the 3URFE's ECU and integrate it with the electronically controlled 8-speed AA80E and other existing LS460 electronic components. LS460's 1UR-FSE engine, as well as other major parts, is coordinated electronically by circuit boards with the rest of the car.

3URFE swap continued....
WOW great responses, thanks! Yes, it's nominally less than 50 ft/lbs torque increase....yes, there are enormous electronic interface and application issues....yes, I'm whistling in the dark. It's another liter and change, on top of 4.6...that's 20% more engine. And, if an LS430 rear axle gearset of 3.266 can be swapped in over my 2.937, that's another marginal increase in my 60-foot time, out here in stoplight land....maybe I can put the Hemi Challengers and Cobra Mustangs back in their boxes. Not to mention the pesky Porsches....I'll take any help I can get. I'm in no hurry....this car is already a hellfreighter....big and bad, hurts alot of local feelings. I just want to kick it up some....BAM!

This could be useful
This sounds like a good idea. But you may just look into building a "stroker" vs the transplant. The engine block part numbers are 11401's but the LS lists a removable water jacket ($22). Also, the LS cylinder head costs about 30% more than a Tundra. In diamond language: You may be trading a 1 carat-vvs1 for 1.3 carat-s1.

Me thinks you're going to need a shoe horn...

with unlimited funds anything is possible.. good luck.. Tundra also has a TRD supercharger if i am not mistaking.. im wondering if people like Orange Virus has done any tuning for this platform. they are able to tune other lexus vehicles like the IS 2nd GEN and ISF. also there is an HKS supercharger for this engine.. will definitely be cheaper. i understand wanting to be different and thats cool.. and costly.. as for me i have a manual swapped sportcross with an AR5 transmission.. a little diffrerent nothing special

You also have dual injection and the DI side will slow much greeter fine tuning and uprated port injectors will also allow the needed WOT fuel increase depending on what you do. It is much harder to get a port injected engine to idle nicely and have clean part throttle response vs a DI

You are literally gaining mid rpm average power that will only be seen in 1st gear and you will be hurting higher rpm power where you will be for the rest of a pull after 1st, combine that with LESS 5500 plus HP and you will be trapping slower than with the 2UR
