Question: To remove center grille module, everything inside inside the hour glass shape chrome trim piece (see picture below), is it necessary to remove the whole bumper cover or can the center module be removed separately? Any video or instructions? I couldn't find anything on YouTube for 2013-2017 LS460. Thanks

The bumper needs to come off. There are two screws that hold the chrome trim. The rest are held with clips which are all clipped on the bumper. I would say it’s less trouble removing the bumper than to try to magically reach behind the grill to try to remove it.

I’ve done it myself by removing the bumper.

Some of the tabs break easily as well. I know because I've broken one.

In order for this to work you will need to convert the entire front bumper to non fsport or you can have a qualified autobody shop modify your current front bumper to accommodate the standard grille.

I personally like the fsport grille more so I converted mine. I used the chrome trim from the standard bumper.

Edit: I just realized how old this tread is.. lol. Jeez..

Where is that bridge. I'm from Fort Worth......

The front end of your car looks great and exactly what I'd like to do.

Can you tell me a little more details on what was done to modify your current front bumper to accommodate the F-sport grille?

If you are using the chrome trim from the standard bumper, can I confirm that's the standard front bumper and somehow, they modified the F-sport grille to attach it and if so what other mods to the bumper were required?

Is the horizonal plastic bar where the license plate mounts and contains sensors from the standard bumper or the F-sport version?

Do you have a parts list of what was required?

Can I ask which color black you used, and did you also spray the horizontal trim next to the fog lights?

Apologies in advance for all the questions.
Thank you.

I purchased the grill and trim. The color is factory.. similar to gunmetal. I bought salvaged parts. The bumper is the standard (non-f sport) bumper. The bodyshop will need to cut some sections out of the center of the standard bumper to fit the f-sport grill and trim. The trim from the standard bumper will not work. The grill does not line up right. The sensors from my 2008 matched up perfectly and are fully functional. PM me is you have any additional questions.

I did this years ago. It was cheaper to buy a CAPA certified bumper than to have to cut a non-fsport bumper

What about the fog lights? If you used the F sport bumper then you changed fogs no? Trying to understand how it was cheaper.

Yep. I scored a pair f sport fogs for like $400. CAPA certified f sport bumper was $350 shipped. I ended up selling the entire old front bumper and old fogs for $1k to a repair shop.

Seems like your situation may be a little different. For salvaged parts, depending on condition, F Sport fogs are going to run $600-1000/pair these days.. Then you have the housing for the fogs.. another $200. The amount you paid for those extra parts I didn't pay in labor. Depends on the body shop I suppose. I also had the standard 13+ grill and trim which I sold for $350.
