Default Battery Cover Area Clips

Does anyone have a link or part number for the battery cover clips? These are the larger and different then the other clips that secure the engine covers.

A couple weeks ago I bought this assortment for $9. I didn't use any on the battery cover, but I bet one of the sizes will work. If I remember I'll check tomorrow.

Do a search on e-bay. I bought 100 of them for $10. You can get different sizes. I think they were under Toyota/Lexus fender clips?

The battery tray use a wider and longer button clip. I know because i ordered some from lexuspartsnow.com. And with these you can undo them more than twice and don't break. Check your cars for yourself.

OEM PART NUMBERS FOR THE ENGINE COWL PUSH PIN CLIPS, THE BATTERY COVER AND THE BATTERY COVER PUSH PIN CLIPS

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: For the three-part LS460 engine cowling/cover (requiring 15 push pin clips in total, all 7mm diameter hole) the OEM push pin clip part number is 90467-07211. I am using aftermarket 90467-07201 as an effective substitute. I purchased a 100-ct bag of them, with a push pin clip pull/pry tool included, on Amazon for $9.00. They work perfectly, though a few of them broke and had to be thrown-away. At the dealership, the OEM 90467-07211 is MRSP ~$2.00 each.

THE DETAILS: By studying the parts listings & explosions found at …

https://parts.lexus.com/a/Lexus__/62...1440-5503.html

http://usa.toylexparts.com/lexus/431...3/5503/551741j

https://www.mylparts.com/v-2007-lexu...gas/body--cowl

https://www.*******.com/parts/p_U_20...ZGHA_5503.html

… I found that the actual LS460 battery cover part number is: "55782-50050 Louver, Cowl Top Ventilator, Left." Exploded under BoM 55782D. Based upon photographs I found on eBay, the battery cover (apparently erroneously) actually bears a Toyota part number "55785-50050" stamping. THAT part number is NOT found in the Lexus LS460 parts database at all. Rather it is assigned to a smallish cowl panel component in the Lexus LS500. Keep this in mind, as if you wish to search for a used LS460 battery cover on eBay or the like, it is likely going to be listed by the "55785-50050" stamping.

The LS460 battery cover takes a total of SIX push pin clips in order to be held-down. There are two 'outer' push pin clip holes (toward the passenger front wheel), two 'rear' push pin clip holes (toward the windshield) and two 'inner' push pin clip holes (toward the center of the engine compartment). The inner & rear holes are all the same size (6.3mm diameter) BUT the two outer holes are larger (10.0mm diameter). The part numbers are:

Quantity 2, toward the passenger front wheel: "90467-10170-C0 Clip, Cowl Top Ventilator Louver." Exploded under BoM 55799C. The BoM calls for a total quantity of 3; the explosion shows that 2 are needed for the outer of the battery cover … and the other one is needed somewhere else on the driver's side. 10.0mm diameter hole. MSRP ~$1.75 each. (the C0 Toyota part number suffix always refers to "color, black.")

Quantity 4, toward the windshield & toward the center of the engine compartment: "90467-07076-C0 Clip, Cowl Ventilator Louver, Inner." Exploded under BoM 55787. 6.3mm diameter hole. MRSP ~$1.50 each. The BoM 55787 at Parts.Lexus.Com leads to what is apparently an alternate part number for this same part, 90467-A0016-C0. I compared photographs & dimensions of both part numbers at FastenerZone and they appear to be identical.

The explosions, being somewhat unclear, might be read to suggest the two rear push pin clips are actually 90467-10206. But that clip is of an 8.0mm diameter, too large to fit the 6.3mm diameter hole. So they must be for holding-down the much larger, engine-compartment-wide "55708-50071 Louver, Cowl Top Ventilator" directly … and do not pass through the battery cover at all, again, as the explosions might be read to imply.

I purchased a 20-ct bag of 90467-10170-C0 aftermarket outer push pin clips on eBay for $8.00. I did not find any for less at Amazon.

I found I could source my 100-ct bag of 90467-07201 aftermarket as substitute for the four rear & inner push pin clips. Even though, theoretically, they are oversized by (7.0mm-6.3mm=) 0.7mm. I do not see any aftermarket high-count bags of either 90467-07076-C0 or 90467-A0016-C0 currently listed either on Amazon or eBay.

I thought I would mention that I bought the 90467-10170-C0 Clip, Cowl Top Ventilator Louver, for the two outer holes on the passenger side and 4 each 90467-07076-C0 Clip, Cowl Ventilator Louver, Inner. All have the push pins which look the best to me. I also bought the 90467-10206 clips, and they have a tight fit, but look out of place with the Philips head center retainers. These look similar to toyota interior clips.

I ordered all 3 clip numbers from Megazip. The 90467-07076-C0 clips fit and looked the best at the six locations toward the windshield and center. The 90467-10170-C0 were bigger in diameter and two fit near the passenger fender side. As mentioned before, the 90467-10206 with the Phillip screw heads did not look or fit as well as the 90467-07076-C0 clips.
