i bought a replacement lower drivers seat cushion for our 08. It has a superceeded part number on it.

Sest cover is wrinkled. And really expensive...

007: You mention "sporty" when talking about the GS. I don't think either the GS or the LS (Base or F-Sport) are "sporty" cars. If you want a sporty car, get a BMW or AMG. The two Lexus vegicles are luxury cars, the GS is a smaller version of the LS. Personally, If I were looking for a luxury car, I would go the whole hog and get an LS. If I wanted sporty, I would go BMW (I drove BMWs for 40 years but couldn't stomach the post-2001 styling).

Whelp...I've decided on a 2013+ GS. Engine is sporty enough and the interior is beautiful. If my budget were about 7K higher, I'g get the 2013 LS. Thanks for the insight...

Have you driven a 4GS? The 4GS is actually very sporty, it won all the comparison tests when it first came out, and its really in no way a "smaller LS". The LS and GS are very different, and actually the 4GS is a good deal sportier than the later 5 Series BMWs which have gotten bigger and softer. The current 5 Series really is a "smaller 7 series", its on the same platform. Not so of the GS.

Steve: Yes, I've driven the 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen GS. Admittedly, I was coming from BMWs so didn't find them particularly sporty.

Good luck finding the right one! You can't go wrong with a Lexus in general, however on this particular forum you will get a lot of accolades on the LS. If higher miles don't scare you off, I was going to suggest taking a look at this one. Happen to know that this one is mostly highway miles as I'm pretty sure it belonged to a snowbird who traveled back and forth from WI to AZ. Personally, my favorite interior on a 2013+ LS with the stunning matte wood trim. 2013 RWD with Mark Levinson for $27,500. 88k miles. one owner.

I have both, 06 GS300 and just picked up a 13 LS460L, and I would say get the LS, as some others have stated most driving is in town or freeway, not autoX... I've owned 540's, 750's GS430, and my baby 68 Camaro. You can get coilovers in an LS if you want to dial in the ride quality for that auto x feel, but dial back for comfort. Or do what I did and get a LS with factory airbags, and get the controller then adjust accordingly.

The LS is just far superior in every aspect, luxury, but still V8, get the exhaust vents to add some sound and get more of the sports car feel... My .02

You would take a 2011-2012 LS460 sport over a 13+ GS350? 2013+ LS is not in my budget or that's the route I'd go.

I would. Only thing that would give me pause is the newer infotainment in the GS being more current, but as a car I would chose the LS for sure.

What's the top end of your budget?

Read a few thousand of the posts here. A Lexus requires all the fluids to be changed constantly, at huge expense.
If you want something you buy once, and never needs anything again, I suggest a 1964 Dodge Dart slant 6.
Or a straight 6 Land Cruiser. Still on original plugs, wires, water pump, etc. after 24 years. Fluids and front end components need replaced as with any other vehicle.

I was between the 2015 gs with executive package and 2013 LS swb with luxury package. Finally, I got the LS in this Jan.

For family use, the LS wins over the GS in almost all the aspects.

GS does one thing better than the LS that is the handling. When I just got the LS, my wife did not like how it drives comparing to our previous 2014 Mazda 6 a very algile car so much fun driving it. But after few months, now she was totally spoiled in the LS and she said the quietness and comfort of the LS makes the handling less important. Especially on highways.

GS is a great car too, if I don't have kids I will definitely get it over the LS.
