Hi guys
So theres 2 types as I know it, one is with the 2 lazyboy type seats.. then theres the bench seats... question is... on the bench seats.. can the seats move? because if they cannot the default raised up position looks pretty uncomfortable and ill be riding in the back from time to time.. if they can then the . difference i small and the bench seats might even be a good idea.. what do you guys have?
With the Executive package only the seat behind the passenger reclines. The seat behind the driver is identical to the 5-seat option.
Have you sat in the back of either? If not, definitely take the time to do so as the back seats are EXTREMELY comfortable as they are. But if you're buying this car primarily to be driven in (as opposed to "to drive"), definitely spring for the reclining seat with massage.
I have a 2013 LS with Ultra luxury package. It is a 5 seater with both outboard rear seats that recline and have a vibration only option. This package includes 4 zone climate control with both heated and cooled outboard rear seats and rear seat radio control. I find the rear seats to be uber comfortable.
The reclining rear seats option is separate from the Executive Rear Seat package. It's fairly common to find an LS460 (especially the L models) that have the reclining back seats. The footrest/ottoman only comes with the Executive Seating Package, which also includes the fixed center console, making the car a 4-seater as opposed to a 5-seater. This package originally cost an extra $12K or so, and is fairly rare.
On cars with the Executive Seating Package, the ottoman is only on the right side - the left side reclines but doesn't have the footrest that raises.

That makes so much more sense and really helps when I am searching for which ones to look at.. your clarification makes my decision easier.. if the seats recline I am not going to give up the centre seat possibility to have that cumbersome fixed centre console.. that fixed centre console is fairly common here.. but knowing what I know now. Either is really fine for me but I am not going to specifically search out the ones with executive seating packge/ottoman.
Glad I could help. Another tip to identify cars with reclining rear seats is to look closely at the console by the gear shifter. If you see a button on the far right side that shows a reclining rear seat, you know the car is equipped with them. Here's a photo to help.
I have the same setup as Mbbarron has on my 2010 LS 460L plus it also has power head rests and it's own AC controls. I understand that package was around a $7000 upgrade but I bought mine when it came off lease so I do not have the original window sticker. While I have never ridden in my back seat I am told by folks who have ridden back there for 700 miles that it was quite nice. They found it very enjoyable to take a nap in plus with the cool box they could keep their bottle water cold. The DW has enjoyed riding in the backseat when her back was sore.
