Default LS460 plastidipped grill results!

Finally decided to plastidip my grill on my LS after seeing this easy mod from Lbintab and CJITTY it was a really easy process and even though the change is not the biggest I think it makes it look pretty awesome!

Taking off the engine covers to access the grill

Taping off the parts I don't want plastidipped

After the plastidip before gloss

Installed back on the car I think it looks awesome

Also I might as well put this here: does anyone know how much the tanabe springs settle more than the height stated (1.5. 0.8) I heard that the 1.5 and 0.8 are going to be the springs max low after being settled? Or do they settle more ie 2. 1.2, can anyone confirm?

I have a question, I used to dip things so I understand the benefits of it. With an LS 460 why didn't you just buy a used grill from eBay and then paint the grill with either matte black or gloss black?

I ask because you did all the proper prep to avoid mistakes but in the end dip looks like dip. Was it just to see if you liked it?

I think the blacked out grills look nice. You might want to add 2 coats of glossifier to make it look less like dip and more like paint. 2 coats won't make it shine or anything, it will just knock off some of that plastic look.

I know what you're saying. But yeah, it was overall just a quick easy thing to do because I was bored. I agree getting a grill and painting it would look alot better but that is 100 vs 20. It was quick and easy so I can't expect alot

Might do that to mine... been thinking about doing this for a long time now... My car is the darker grey, I think it would look great on it..

I'll keep my eyes open on ebay for a replacement one... so incase I screw it up, I can roll back :-/

Yeah, all preference I just like the look of how the black grill kinda goes with the vents on the bottom of the bumper.

Trying to keep mine stock. It’s fast enough I do not need to call attention to it.
