I disagree with your dealer. The video sounds like an electrical issue (probably a fuel pump in the gas tank). Did they demonstrate this to YOU, sitting in the car, with their fan blowing on the car?

Tell them if they want to replace the antenna, and it doesn't cure the problem, then you're not paying for it! Let's see how confident they are with their diagnosis then!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I am having this exact same issue on my 2014. I love the car but this is driving me crazy. I've already spent around $1k at the dealership and the noise has not stopped. The shark fin/bracket etc have already been replaced. The fin sits tight now (it didn't before). We thought we had it fixed after 3 visits to the dealership, but we don't. The hard part about the issue is the noise is very inconsistent....it's like I have to be driving with the perfect cross wind to hear the noise. When it makes the noise, it sounds like a massive hive of bees or whistle coming from the center rear of the roof.

Does anybody have a fix? I am starting to wonder if the noise is coming from the center brake light near the shark fin. Perhaps the weather stripping is bad?

Try treating all the seals with Gummipfledge or Shin Etsu grease

I've already done all the door, window and sunroof seals with Shin Etsy. The noise is 100% coming from the shark fin or upper brake light area.

Try taping over those seals back there with thick painters tape and see if that solves it, that will help you identify those seals...

Is this part of a routine..like a commute? Have you ruled out different conditions of asphalt or concrete because the differences in some surfaces will cause more road noise than others. Have you yourself tried riding as a passenger with another driver to identify where the noise is coming from ?

Humans who have good binaural hearing are very good at localizing sound sources. Have 2 or 3 of your friends/associates ride with you and ask them to point to where the sound is coming from.

Here is a link to an article regarding sound source localization: https://news.mit.edu/2022/where-soun...roaching%20car.

I travel the same length of roads on a regular basis...sometimes it makes the noise and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes the noise is barely present and sometimes it is very load. Sometimes I start to hear it around 45 mph and other times it starts to kick in around 75-80. I have changed tires and replaced all control arms and shocks so that takes all of that out of the equation. I have replaced the shark fin and have lubed everything.

The upper brake light area is the only area I have not touched (nor has the dealer).

I've had multiple people source the sound and used a dB meter. The sound is definitely coming from the rear center of the roof. We can't tell if it's the shark fin or the brake light.

I taped the shark fin before and thought I found it prior to the work. I did it again with the dealership (head tech) in the car and he thought it was the fin as well. They test drove it after the fix with no noise...but it's back. The intermittent part is what makes it so difficult.

I'll have to try that over the brake light seal next. I try to wait until I hear the noise, pull over and tape it and get back on the same road. I think this gives me the best shot of isolating the noise. I did this with the fin and would have sworn (and paid money) to fix the shark fin. I guess it changed the wind just enough to temporarily solve the issue.

Probably no chance when the car was at the dealers they tried different wheels and tires from a used unit, not saying that's what it is but resonance/vibration from wheels or tires can do some funny stuff.
