what else to replace besides control arm bushings?

Hi guys, I just bought a used 2010 LS460 (the base version), and an inspection at Exact Motorsports tells me that all the shocks are way too weak and need to be replaced ( I can feel that too), and front upper and lower control arm bushings need to be replaced. They quote me 2500 including parts and labor on both the shocks and bushings, they say it's an 8 hour job so labor is really high. It seems to be a relatively fair price, but I'm thinking about doing it myself to save some money, given that both jobs are not that difficult (probably less than 8 hours). I've searched the forum and found much valuable information, but I also have some questions,
Besides the bushings, what other parts are known to easily break down? Like ball joint and stuff like that or even the control arm itself? Since I'm taking apart the front control arms, I can replace some other stuff at the same time preventitavely. Also I think I'm going to use PSB460 for bushing, and KYB gas-a-just for shock. Are they good?
Also, the service history record doesn't show that the water pump has been changed. Do I need to do something about that part as well? Car has 100k miles, and serviced every 5000 miles (previous owner bought a prepaid service plan at dealer).
Thanks!
