How to tie trunk close with bungee cable
Hey guys I don't have great eyesight lol I know the irony anyways... i do not see anywhere on the back of the trunk lid where i can tie bungee cords to.... so if i am put something in the trunk thats bigger and I cannot close it I do not see points where i can tie these cords to. you know the kind of cords with the rounded metal hooks at the end.....

Mounting points aside, unless you disable the trunk motor, I feel that this is not a good idea. By using the cords you are trying to force the trunk to remain at an intermediate angle. This could confuse the motor that may try to work to open or close constantly and get damaged in the process. Wouldn't an open trunk also set off the chimes on the dashboard?

I would love to hear an answer to the posters query. I often haul chairs in my trunk and just leave the trunk open. I wish I could tie it down somehow.
Yes, the alarm light goes off on the dash, but the motor is just fine. I don't like the trunk lid to bump up and down, but can't see anyway around it.

As far as I understand how the trunk motor operates, there is no danger of having it fully or partially open trunk as long as you do not trigger the motor. You could use the lock (needs verification) or the rear car tag as first mounting point, and there are 4 mounting points for a trunk net that can be used as first and/or second mounting points.

I figured out a way to tie down the trunk on the 460. And it's so blindingly obvious that I should have tumbled to it years (and cars) ago:
You drill a small hole in the plastic pull-down handle on the underside of the trunk lid, insert a length of cord and tie it off to make a secure loop.
One end of a bungee does in the loop and other can be hooked on the trunk release.
Just did it on my 2012 460 and I'm ready to haul.
