2017 F-sport LS Select Midnight Edition...
once in awhile something really special rolls through my dealership. ive seen just about all of the limited edition package cars over the years, but this one was really special.
around this time last year, just as the LS460s time drew to a close and the 500s started appearing, we got this in. the F-Sport LS Select Midnight Edition. very limited run. something to the tune of 500 if i remember right, but of all the limited or uncommin trim package cars, this was, in my opinion, the most sexy, aggressive, and generally bad *** Ls460 or any LS really before or after. we didnt have it long but i managed to sneak it away for a few mins to check it out with one of my associates and snap some pics. being that it was a very very rare car, and that id probably never see another one again. its a shame they made so few of these and that it was only offered during the final year of production, cause this really was something special. not only did it look like something straight out of a video game, but it drove like it too. so enjoy the pics if you never got to see one! also, anyone here end up snagging one of these? there was two very limited package LS460s last year. the other was the LS Select Nightfall Edition, not quite as rare as the F-sport version, but i never did get to meet one of those in person.

Hi Stereorob,
That looks awesome. I see that it has radar cruise also. Did it have the UltraLux package, although I think that package could never be had with the F-sport?
I remember very well the 2017 NightFall edition. The photo I saw had the deep blue paint; absolutely gorgeous! I decided to paint my car's grille black after seeing this picture.

You mean you test-drove one while shopping for your 2017 LS?
I haven't driven an F-sport, so I don't know how different or sporty the handling is compared to the regular LS. But I think the LS will have higher sales if Lexus would allow for all types of combinations. For example, I would have been very interested in an 460L AWD F-sport with the UL and APCC packages. The Brembo brakes and F-sport styling with the black grille and other interior touches (2-tone leather, aluminum pedals) would be a nice upgrade over the standard LS.

As for not going back, I fully agree. I had a 2012 SWB for 8 months. My kids got tired of it after a couple of months, and the hunt was on for a LWB!

No, the 4LS F-sport was offered in only the short wheel base. With the LS500, there is only one wheelbase that is 1.5 inches longer than the 460L.

i wonder if hat 1.5 inches actually translates to legroom...I've only had my car for 2 mths but I am already thinking about my next car LOL if i were to replace this car it would be to a 2010 or 2012... I really dont like the look of it after they totally changed the front bumper/grille.. on the sedan anyways on the LX it looks ok.
The wheelbase of the 2018 LS500 has increased by about 1.5 inches compared to the 2007-2017 460L. Sadly, inspite of a longer wheelbase than the 460L, there is lesser leg and headroom in the LS500 than in the 460L.

Your 2007 460L has exactly the same wheelbase as a 2010 or 2012 460L. They are both 4LS, and there are some changes in the front air dam, but the grille has the same shape. The 2013+ 4LS had a grille makeover, but the dimensions of the car, especially the wheelbases, remained the same as the 2007-2012 460s. So, you won't gain any extra legroom by switching to a 2010+ 460L.
