I did search on the issue before posting, but could not find a thread on-point to my problem. Which is - there seems to be a motor of some type running at the same time as the a/c blower and seems to be independent of the fan speed manually selected or automatically selected. If the cabin reaches temperature and fan motor cycles down to next to nothing, a motor is still heard running in the background. That motor also continues to run for a short bit after the car is turned off. I got it to stop once by manually selecting a very low temp so the fan speed goes to max, and then reducing the fan speed to ambient temp. The motor in question was silent for awhile before starting up again. This just started out of the blue one day last week and is rather annoying. Any ideas?

No, the seat a/c is also independent of the whirring motor noise I hear. The motor running is intermittent, so could be a bearing going out on something? The noise is definitely in the a/c control area.
