anyone have a DIY fix on how to clean up the faded emblem?
Thought about buying a new one, but $500 is a bit much for an emblem
I assume there is a film on it, but not sure & would appreciate any advice
I have had much success with Mequiar's Scratch X 2.0 but there are many polishing compounds which are safe for automobile clear coats. Some are cheaper and some are more expensive. I use a polishing pad and drill when I use the Mequiar's. Disclaimer: I have never tried Mequiar's on the L emblem and would be interested to see if it works in the event I have this issue in the future.

Note that it'll probably need to be redone about once per year tho.

Thanks everyone. I will try polishing it out & hope it works. I'll post a pic after & what I used.
Otherwise I will buy one from eBay, because everything is clean except the emblem....thanks again
Is there a way to open up this emblem and get to the actual logo? I ask because I bought the black pearl logos for my LS. However the front one has tiny dings in the finish from rocks etc. I was wondering if I could open up my original one and paint it black and then close it up again.

My 2019 Lexus Emblem is the same way and I hand wash myself. As much as these cars cost this should not be a problem.
Did the polish work and what brand did you use if it did please?
I have used several products over the years for my headlights and the emblem (I have radar CC). The RainX is the best I have used (I also used a Scotch brand product which was also very good). However, they don't last forever. It will need to be done periodically. My LS stays outdoors every day of the year so that probably contributes to a faster deterioration.
This is an issue with all cars using some type of plastic. UV rays, acid rain and pelting from road sand/debris takes their toll on all exposed parts of a car.
