Gas smell in trunk...
Just purchased a 2007 LS460, 135k miles. I'm noticing a strong gas odor in the trunk. Pulled all the panels in the trunk and didn't notice anything wrong. All recalls have been done. I have a new gas cap on the way just to see if this helps the issue. Is there anything else I should be looking at? Both recalls for the fuel line as well as the fuel pressure gasket have been done.
Thanks!

When were the pressurized seals changed out, it's possible one of them wasn't seated properly, or a defective seal. We had an older LS model where a faulty fuel pump was causing gas fumes to come into the car. If you bought it from a dealer and they told you the gas seals were replaced, take it back there and tell them what's going on. They should definitely fix that if it was their fault

I didn't buy it from a Lexus dealer. I just looked on the Lexus site and put in my VIN and pulled up the service history. If the gas cap doesn't take care of it I will either call Lexus corporate or take it in and seei what they can do for me. I know I won't be taking it to the dealership that changed the dash in my RX... They tried to tell me I needed a new air filter and spark plugs. They were changed 2 weeks prior.

I found a small white plastic cylindrical plug in the upper left of center area of the spare tire well. Looks like it goes to a tube that goes to the vapor system. Can anyone confirm this and if so, what exactly is the part name and/or function? It's dark outside, so I can't get a good pic.
