When the car is off and I open my driver door I hear some sort of motorized sound. I don't hear that sound when opening any other door. I just checked it- car has been off for about an hour and I went and opened both rear doors and no sound at all. Went to driver door and I hear the motorized sound - seems to be coming from the front of the car. What's activating? Has done it since I bought the car about 18 months ago and still perplexes me - just kept forgetting to post..

May be the auto steeringcolumn lock.

Many LS's have auto-closing doors that draw the door shut if they were not slammed
sufficiently. Motor(s) for this are usually silent, perhaps your frequently used driver's door
is starting to go?
