Cummins 6BT might be a better candidate for a donor motor.

This sounds like a nightmare both in difficulty and cost and it would not result in a superior upgrade, more of a downgrade unless you tune it for crazy hp. Nothing is going to hook up correctly, you are going to need new wiring harnesses, mounts, need to fabricate, new ecu, etc. Stuffing a V12 in a LS makes more sense. A 2JZ swap makes a little more sense in a IS350 or GS350 but it would still be a nightmare to do. Don't recommend doing this. Sell the 2JZ to Supra owner who needs one or for a SC or old GS owner to swap.

GET OUTTA MY HEAD!!!!

I was just thinking how a large Cummins could make a cool car even cooler.

Now, swapping a gasoline I6, turbo, twin-turbo, or not, replacing a 380 HP, very low-stress, incredibly smooth V8...I don't understand this.

I'd much sooner figure out where to get a Toyota Century engine (V12), and transplant it.

That project would make more sense
There was a vendor/company who was asking for our input to guage interest and the idea was basically shut down by a few members who continually bashed the idea for no reason other then to ruin it for the rest of us.

agreed, Ive always fantasized about finding a 460L with a swapped LSx engine and a 6 speed but I doubt it will happen for obvious reasons.

The 2JZ is a legendary motor but its never done anything for me, im a V8 guy and that will never change

From someone who used to do swap and build cars on the regular, it doesn't make sense. Ecu's, transmissions, driveshafts, cooling systems, power steering, and many other things will need to be addressed. And that doesn't even begin to talk about integrating the LS's factory options to continue working properly. A 2JZ will work harder than the V8. The deceased torque will require the 2JZ to work harder. Therefore requiring more HP which is easy, but at a sacrifice to the luxury of driving an LS in the first place. Honestly, I wouldn't do it, but it's your car, money, and idea I'd rather see a blower or a properly designed twin turbo kit for increased power. We buy these cars for what they are. If we wanted more power, we'd buy AMG's and M5's. If you do it, feel free to ask questions. If I can put a stroked K24 in and NSX and turbo it, I can help you put a 2JZ in an LS.

That would be an awesome swap, at least any motor that is is more mod friendly. These cars with 600whp would be amazing!

Hello, I was just browsing through this the other day. I recently traded in my 460 and am already missing it and prepping for the day I return to one. I have long day dreamed for an XF40 with the 5.0 F tuned engine. Does anyone here know of anyone who has completed such mods? That with the exhaust and even the AA80 trans from the F models with full range lock-up-clutch torque converter would make this thing a proper S63, S8, B7 alternative. Any info is much appreciated, thank you!

This ain’t the LS400 where people (myself included) have installed forced induction or other go fast modifications. The LS460 is a computerized mess that’s more trouble than it’s worth to modify.

I know a guy that's working on a 3ur-fe swap on a 2014 LS. Easy power if it works.

I would LOVE to have an LFA Engine in mine.

Now if only I could afford an LFA engine. I'd be willing to bet they cost more than my car did when new ($80k or so).
