Default Rear brake scrape...the usual suspects?

OK- so all of a sudden my '08 LS RWD starts making a scraping noise from the left rear wheel. The symptoms are:

1. Scraping noise can be heard when the wheel is spinning.

2. Scraping noise gets louder/worse when the car is braking.

I took the wheel off and spun the hub and can't see anything obvious that may be rubbing. Can anyone provide suggestions on where/what I should be looking for? As always, I appreciate the help!

Thanks,

Brian

Wouldn't the car give me a message if the pads were worn out? It hasn't...

Nope, there is only 1 wear sensor on the drivers side rear for the 4 brake pads, so 3 out of the 4 pads have no wear sensors. Its the same with the front. Mostly likely culprit would be the inner pad since its harder to check visually.

Drivers side rear is the wheel making the noise. If I read your comment correctly, is that the wheel where the sensor should be, and wouldn't that trip the message? Just want to be sure I understand. Thanks.

Mine is RHD european model so the sensors might be on different sides, but when i changed my rotors and pads, there is only 1 wear sensor that connects onto one of the pads. I would take the wheel off and check how much is left on each pad on the rear drivers side. Both pads should be the same thickness, you will see the sensor wire going to one of the pads, i actually think its the inner one. I'' see can i find any pictures i took when doing the swap. I could be simply something metallic embedded into the pad, but thats what i would check next. Good Luck!
