Default Chipped not Cracked Windshield Repairs?

Ok, so while coming through Chicago today, I got stuck behind a dump truck loaded with pea gravel that was cruising at about 75MPH. The truck did not have the load covered and small rocks were being blown out and spewing all over the road. Yeah, it sounded like BB's bouncing off the hood and windshield. I now have multiple chips in my windshield and paint.

I can handle the paint but not sure who or how to have the windshield chips repaired.

Would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks

Check with your insurance company or contact any reputable glass shop.

I will tomorrow.
Just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with repairing windshield chips and who they might have used to do that.

Hopefully your insurance company repairs windshield chips for free...I recently had 2 chips in my SUV windshield and 1 in my 4LS, repair guy came out 2 days after calling insurance and did the repairs in my garage in about an hour...I was not offered a choice or repair companies (I actually did not think to ask), they just said "company xyz" can be there in 2 days at 9am is that OK? My insurance company was able to schedule the repair right when I called, I did not have to call anyone else or do anything except be at home to open the garage...quick and easy...

Default Windshield replacement

I just got a long crack in my 2020 windshield. Looking at replacing it and understand the lane departure system needs to be re-calibrated. What should I ask the auto glass people to make sure it is done right? I just watched a video on the re-calibrating a Lexus with Maxisys Autel ADAS. Are there other systems I need to be aware of that are acceptable? I want to be able to ask each vendor so I get one that knows what he is doing. The dealership is too far away to use their outsourced auto glass repair shop. Thanks.

Just be careful what these "windshield repair" guys do. If they want to drill a hole through the outer glass (typical chip repair), RUN, don't walk, away! Their "95%" repair will be 100% worse than the original chip!
