I've noticed your absence as well and missed reading some of your straight contributions.
I would consider one of the available, new or used, Lexus V8's. Personally I would look for a GSF.
I thought I read a header somewhere that said this is the way to own a home in the future

All the best in your travels across our great continent, and drop in once in a while with some interesting story.

What kind of 40’ did you acquire? We tow a solara convertible behind our Foretravel 40’. No substitute for the convertible in our opinion. All the great views are up. Top down. Required a remco trans pump. Just a different idea.

I will respond to some of you other folk, but I just want to update my progress. The Dodge Charger is out....can't be flat towed. As for the caddy....too much hardware and mods to do that one flat towed (fluid pumps, etc). So that leaves FOMOCO, inc Lincoln. I test drove the Fusion Sport. Oh my....it is a BEAST. It pulls almost as quick and handles almost as well as the KIA Stinger I drove a few months ago. It's absolutely loaded as well. The nice thing about it is that it drives quiet and serene if you want. But plant the foot and there is almost no turbo lag and the all wheel drive eliminates the torque steer. We drove a mountain road on the test drive and it was amazing. Paddle shifting all the way with suspension and steering set to "Sport".
Now I'm off to the Lincoln dealership to look at the Lincoln MKZ with the 3.0TT. It's a little out of my price range, but we'll see. It's a pretty car (unlike the <2016 with that hideous grill). Looks so much like the Jags.

WELL..........it's official. Just drove home in my new ride. 2017 Ford Taurus SHO. The Contis were too much $$. While at one of the dealerships, they had this car in the showroom. Owner of the dealership drove it. 3k miles on the odo, so not even broken in yet. Best part was that the sticker price was 57k dollars and I got it for 39,900. Added a warranty - bumper to bumper 6 years 60k miles from Ford Canada - an extra 1700 dollars.
It has every available option. Now for some new wheels and the modding that is inevitable whenever I get a new car, lol.
Let me just say this friends.....you are a fine group of folks and I truly appreciate the friends I made here. I hope I made a contribution that had some value. I learned a lot here and I will miss you all!

In fact, I'm going to go a step further and say that this forum would not be the place that it is today without you, Chris. So many great posts, always level headed. Huge thanks to you for that.
Enjoy your upcoming retirement and hitting the road in that motorhome, you've earned it!

Those are very kind words Steve! I enjoyed our PM banter over the years! LOL.
Good thing I didn't get the Caddy then! LOL.
Yes, I heard that too. If so, that's good for me, as it will make the car a little more collectible down the road.
So far, I love this car. The SYNC 3 system is amazing. The stereo (Sony) is not quite to the same level as the ML system in the LS and has 7 fewer speakers (12 all together) and just under 400 watts compared to the 500 plus in the ML.
This car is an amazing cruiser on the highway. Put it in Sport mode, tromp the go pedal and she FLIES. Sounds awesome too. Body is tight and has zero rattles or squeaks, but one can expect that from a car with under 3k miles. LOVE the color - it's the White Platinum Tri-Coat...a 550 dollar option. Good riddance to the black on my LS! lol.
I almost cried when I said goodbye to the LS at the dealer. My wife was a little concerned...my eyes were red and a little teary. I've NEVER felt that way before. She was good to me. Frustrating at times, but a good relationship always is. My only complaint the last year or so with the LS, was the oil consumption. I was adding about a qt every 1k miles. Never smoked or leaked though. Weird. The mufflers were needing replacement again - 400-600 bucks averted. I actually had an appointment today to get that done.
Back to the SHO - it has all the bells and whistles. cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise, 20" wheels, heated and AC (yes AC , not ventilated) seats front AND rear. self parking (and it works VERY well), lane keep assist, pre-collision braking, etc etc. Never wanted AWD, but the SHO has no option to delete it.
So, I now have a few things to sell, including a Pro Clip phone mount, OEM Lexus 18 wheels with winter tires, factory tail lights, and an oil filter removal tool. I may have other stuff as well.
Moving form Lexus to Caddy = big mistake
Tell us about the Taurus. I've read it is in its final year.
