You guys are too much in this forum. I'll let you buy the new car and pick it up after your lease is up or you trade it in for something else. At least I know it will have been well maintained and everything that broke you fixed already. .If I was a betting man I would say most ppl on CL have a Lexus close to 10 years or older. This thread is not about a starter so I really don't see why you consistently pick apart everyones opinion that differs from your. My expectations as well as the OP are reasonable and ppl all across this forum come here for answers or just to vent about their issues. If you can help then help, if not state your position and move on. It seems like you have the need to have the last word on everything and that's really not cool.

You think starter issues are something now...wait another 10 years and see how the new cars with auto-stop "technology" are fairing. My 2018 CT6 has this incredibly annoying "feature" and I turn it off every time I get in the car. At least I have that choice. In some cars it cannot be turned off. These things can start dozens of times every day. If you have a stop and go commute, it could be 100+

Im not saying you should or shouldn’t buy a new car vs a used car, I’m just saying that when you buy an older car making repairs you wouldn’t have to make to a new car should be expected. All the money you’ve saved pays for a lot of starters and water pumps.

And I’ll put my contributions to the forum up against anybody’s. I’m not responding to myself, you can feel
free to just move on from the discussion after stating your opinion too. As a matter of fact my last post wasn’t even in response to anything you posted, it was in response to another member.

Hey Will, said it before and will say it again, the 04 to 06s were some of the best built cars ever. the quality on my old LS430 (05) eclipses my current 2012, lexus unfortunately just started cutting corners on interior materials, suspension design, electronics etc. if i was you i would look for a clean 06 with low miles, preferably with the sports package.
