Default Lost my key fob 2007 Lexus LS460

It was a spare that just disappeared - ugh!! The Lexus dealer is quoting me $320 for a new fob with programming!! Any suggestions as to a cheaper source?

I'm sort of in the same boat. I'm hoping the auction site comes up with my second key fob but if it doesn't they are available on eBay for around $80-$100.

I researched this question after getting my LS 430. Some have had success with ebay, etc., and others haven't - tread carefully. Since the seller knocked $250 off the price of the car after he couldn't find the second master fob, I went ahead and bought a replacement from the dealer. With tax and shop supply fee (what in the world for?), the total was $336.

I totaled my 07 LS460L and I have the manuals, Complete set, Key Fob,Rear seat wireless headsets and remotes, and the cargo net setup. I gotta see where I put that box.

I paid $125 new on Ebay and Dealer programmed it for me for $70. Now I have 2 sets. The Lexus dealer was a little reluctant to do it since I got it online but it was brand new so there was no reason it would not work.

Please note : There are 2 fob types 2007 -2008 and late model 2008 to 2012.

If you decide to buy one off of eBay...just make sure that the printed circuit board number of the one you buy matches what you have. The FCC ID on the fob case does not necessarily mean it is the same. For example, my key has the PCB 271451-5290. If you don't match it up, it won't work.

You can also try carandtruckremotes.com. Do a google search for coupons, they usually have some online.

Take the fob apart and look at the PCB itself. On the top edge you'll see white print with the board number.. If you browse eBay you'll see pictures of what I'm talking about.

DarKnight -Looks interesting, thanks - was quoted $160 with a discount. Now I have to find out what the dealer will charge to program. Or are others that can program besides the dealer?

DedBirdDog - let me know how this goes. I'm holding off until I see how your ebay purchase works.

You can try a locksmith. I had a locksmith program a couple of keys for my Infinitis for $50 each.

That's how I added another fob to my 2014 Avalon a couple of years ago. Same price. A good locksmith can erase all the keys from the car and reprogram non-virgin keys to work with it.
