Default ISF Exhaust

Has anyone tried putting on a Lexus ISF exhaust on an LS? Deeper grunt? Will it be worth it?

Co-worker just sold his ISF and has OEM exhaust laying around it looks smaller than the one in the LS I can prob had a local shop to install it. Looking for a deeper tone.

It's a good thought you have. I would find it very interesting to hear your results if you went through with it. Here are my initial thoughts.

1st - I would imagine the length is going to be an issue. A muffler shop could maybe "splice in" a section to address the length.

2nd - There's the issue of the fit to the LS "valence" (for lack of a better name). I seriously doubt it's going to fit correctly. More work for the muffler shop. Not impossible though.

3rd - The cost from the muffler shop, although maybe not show stopping, not what I would guess to be cheap.

4th - And most important, the sound. Who knows what it would be when applied to the 460. It may, or may not give you what you're looking for. What if it's too loud? What if you want it removed? More welding and work to get back to the original exhaust (more $$ too). What if it's too quiet? It would leave you feeling like you wasted $$.

I hate to beat a dead horse here, and don't want to be a gorilla pounding his chest, but it sounds EXACTLY like what you need is a double stack of Exhaust Vents. Very quick and easy to do. No permanent changes to your exhaust. Less expensive than the exhaust work you would need a muffler shop to do on the ISF exhaust. The sound of the exhaust vents are KNOWN, and is very deep and authoritative, not loud and raspy. A very LS elegant sound. Search for the thread about the Oliver Exhaust Mod. It's a good read to give you an idea what the results are of the Exhaust Vents.

I know there's guys on here who find it annoying that I chime into exhaust threads. For those, I can accept the criticism and sorry you may find it annoying. Better than the criticism, I can simply be ignored too. I chime in because I have a passion for the LS line of vehicles. And I like all types of mods. Especially those that I feel improve the overall image and enjoyment of these vehicles. If the Exhaust Vents were not as simple and effective as they are … if they were just gimmicky, I would just shut up.

Oliver is bang on. It's an experiment that could be the proverbial rabbit hole. Likely a lot of drama for little to nothing in return.

Not sure if an exhaust leak rumble is for me.

Really was hoping someone have previously tried swapping exhaust from other Lexus models onto our LS.

Yeah … kind of a long shot. Due to the fitment issues.

I've never heard the ISF, I have no idea what it sounds like. Surely it is louder than the whispering flagship though...

ISF does have an intake resonator that is a drop-in on our cars, supposed to increase engine sound if that's something you're interested in.

I get it. But lets face it, a muffler that is less restrictive and allowing more sound, IS also an, "exhaust leak rumble". It just happens to be coming out the end of the tailpipe instead of 20" ahead of the tailpipe.

And 213374U is correct. You can purchase the ISF "sound generator" for about 120 bucks, as seen here: https://lexusboutique.net/products/g...ound-generator
