Default Carista is awesome!

So I finally got one of these Carista plugs and the app, its awesome! Well worth it. I was able to easily change a couple things that bug me, like the audible alarm when the headlights are in the "ON" position and you get out of the car, even though they shut off automatically anyways in that mode. I was also able to turn off the seatbelt buckle alarms. Lots of diagnostic tools, you can test and reinitialize the TMPS sensors, etc.

Just thought I'd share in case somebody is thinking about getting one.

sure is! It has come in handy more than a few times. I got mine a couple years ago when the company was just starting up. I used it to set up the setting on all three of my Lexus vehicles and as an OBD scanner for other cars. App is very easy to use.

I loved it when I had the LS, not so much with the Q.

A "must have" tool and a fraction of the price of going to the dealer for a simple diagnosis or custom setting. Grab one and you won’t be sorry!

I bought it direct from Carista, $19.95 and it comes with a free month of the app.

Hmm. I may have to check this out. I bought a Blue-driver earlier this year for OBD2 reading and diagnostics. That was before I picked up the LS. I wonder if I can change settings and vehicle customization with that tool as well?

Steve

Ya should have bought it back in 2015 when it was unlimited use for life for one price.

Carista is wonderful. I've had to use it for TPMS many times. Makes buying it back then worth it.

Does this software allow me to turn off navigation lock and door lock/unlock while the car is running?

You cannot defeat the navigation lockout.

You can however change the lock behavior yes

That’s good enough for me. I’m sold! Thanks!

It really is great (and FWIW, my experience dates back to being a beta tester... a long time ago; TPMS wasn't even accessible yet). I remember changing the default language on our previous LX only to elicit a reaction from my wife

I was the beta tester for this device back in the day. I loved it from day 1 and I still have it. Now that my LS is gone, I will use it as an OBD reader and use it on my wife's CT200H
