2007 LS460 All Tire Pressure Signals Missing
Hey guys,
Just joined. Nice to be here chatting with fellow car guys. I recently got this beautiful car with 100k miles. The dealer I got the car from swapped my old spare with a brand new spare tire and wheel from another car (Factory and never put on the car). TPMS light came on after about 25 miles first flashing and then solid. A soft reset (Button under the steering column) did not fix the issue. All tire pressures are checked and good. I thought all this was from the swapped spare. Techstream shows there are no transmitter IDs from ANY of the five wheel sensors, even though I have IDs registered for all five sensors. Since all relevant data is present, I doubt if this is a module problem. It is unlikely that all my sensors went bad at the same time or that the problem is caused by the swapped spare. I think this maybe a bad receiver. Any of you Lexus gurus out there have any ideas?

Welcome to Club Lexus. Sounds like the batteries may have died. Have them scanned to verify they are transmitting. If they still are transmitting then the receiver is suspect. I was joking with the tire guy when the TPMS on the other car went they decided to die together. Lasted a month shy of 10 years to the date when the car rolled off the line.

From my experience with most vehicles the vehicles ECU picks up signals better than scan tools used to check that sensors are functioning. So the ECU will pick up signals from sensors when scan tools say the batteries are low or dead. I’m not near any guides right now but if the spare has a sensor and they didn’t program it to your vehicle when they swapped it the light would come on.

Even though this thread is 4 years old, this is the closest to the problem I have. My 2011 LS460L TMP. The whole display is blank. Google does not cover much on this issue but I suspect it is the ECU or the TPM Module has gone bad. The TMP light blinks when starting the car, then steady. Pressures are all good. When you scroll through the display, it is totally blank. No reading whatsoever. The module cost $864 and I do have pirate Tech Stream downloaded on my laptop with only 7 login left. I cannot even find where this TPM module (receiver) is in the car to check the plug. Can someone help?
Thanks

Older models: if just one tire has a dead battery or bad sensor, the system won't properly display others and will throw a code(dash light). Common cause, spare tire sensor wasn't changed when others were.

Hold on to that $864 a little longer. The TPMS receiver module is on the car’s ceiling, above the rear window, below the shark fin antenna. I have closely monitored this forum for more than 15 years and I don’t recall anyone fixing a problem by replacing the receiver module. A few replaced it but no fix. Take your car to a full service tire dealer and get their help. Some will provide a diagnosis for no charge.

Thank you SWFL - Lexo98 and jmcraney!! I took it to my mechanic. Indeed, 2 sensors are low, spare tire has no reading, the two are okay. Strangely this will knock out the whole display instead of having sensor X say LOW. Also, great information where this device is. Getting the car to replace all three TMP sensors next week. This forum is fantastic!

Nothing strange about that frankly. Got your attention, isn't it? That's the point.
