Deal of the century or rare unicorn for sale notifications
Thought I start up this public service thread for those who browse and find a great deal and or a rare unicorn for sale but can't make a move on it at the moment
So why not notify others before it gets away? btw I'm the one that notified Mckellyb of his 2012 LS460 which he stole out the door for $21K. It should have gone for ALOT more had the seller really understood what they were selling. But don't hate, congratulate !
Here goes,
2013 LS460 with 52K miles $31,500
What make it unique: RWD with Flaxen interior (aka peanut butter interiors) has Mark Levy with my favorite 19" multi spoke wheels for 2013.
I'd be curious to see what the seller would say at an initial offer of $29K and point out the minor accident on Carfax report and it being year end for sales.
MMR is $24,600. Suggested retail is $29,600. That is adjusted for miles, region, and assuming 4.0 out of 5 on the CR. Given the crash, I'd say the initial offer ought to be no more than $25,600 and certainly no more than $26,600.
MMR on that car is $15,300 with an estimated 3.0 out of 5.0 CR. If the CR is higher the MMR would be as well. If it was 3.5 that adds another $850. Given the pimp-mobile shifter, I'm thinking 3.0 is as good as it gets. Retail should be $19,200.
I wouldn't call it a "deal of the century," but I think this is a decent deal on a fairly rare 2014 LS460L AWD Ultra-Luxury: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...504_isFeaturedMiles are good and it appears to be in great shape. Seems to have every available option with the exception of the Executive Seating package (which some people do not want). If I were in the market for a new LS in this price range, I'd probably give this one a good look. It's been at this dealership for nearly 2 months, which often means they are ready to deal...
And another one..
Nice interior on this one!! No Mark Levinson, WHY! Well no Amp failure to worry about I guess.
That is a Touring edition, none have ML but thankfully they don't have air suspension either so you don't have to worry about it and it has a nice wood steering wheel the Sports don't get. I really wanted a Touring, love that wood trim and saddle accents, almost pulled the trigger on one but the suspension was making all kinds of terrible noises and it was priced over $3000 more then this one. I would have jumped on this one if I did not get my GS, great price for the mileage.
It looks likes it can be peeled off. No sure why the dealer didn't take all the "extras" off. The rear emblem also has "bling." It's a decent tell tale of the previous owner. I'd check to see if any speakers are blown
It may not be that rare since it appear to have a sold rear bench and not separated reclining seats. No air suspension and reclining seats would make it rare for a 2010-2012

MMR on that one is $32,200 with a retail of $36,800 assuming a CR of 4.0. If you could buy that car south of $34k you'd have a good deal.

Where were you, DedBirdDog, when I bought my 2014 UltraLux nearly 3 years ago?? It would have been awesome to get this type of feedback and numbers while negotiating with the dealer. I am pretty sure I overpaid by 2-3K when buying my unicorn. The car has been a gem and an absolute pleasure to drive, so no regrets!
Honestly, a good deal is if you get a solid car that makes you happy. Money can be replaced but happiness...that's a whole different ballgame.
When I started looking for my car I was really surprised at the spread between retail and wholesale prices on these cars. Lexus dealers are especially egregious in their markup and willingness to deal. Rest assured, they are using the same wholesale pricing as everyone else. While I would have preferred to buy a car I could see first, the online service history availability is just extraordinary. Having that in hand, I didn't feel uneasy about buying one out of an auction and having it shipped to me. I'll keep trying to post real numbers on these cars here to help our members. I don't want to see anyone get the short end of the stick on a deal and it's happening. With the sedan market in decline, these dealers need to be a bit more realistic in their prices.

UL package is pretty rare especially on an L and low miles makes this one a find. I paid $31,800 8 months ago in May 2018 for my 2013 AWD SWB UL package with 87K miles. Mine has the leather upgrade though. This one seems like a decent deal on a unicorn if the car is in good shape.
