Is there a way to update the 2013 LS infotainment system to 2016 version of the system.

Was trying to search this and questioned the dealer during my last maintenance. The lady I was dealing with was not knowledgeable in my opinion but from what I did gather, it does not seem like this is a software upgrade which is unfortunate as I would love to utilize the entire screen for maps.
In for someone else's response.

I guess the big plan is find the layout of the systems, compare them part by part, look over pin connections all the way to part numbers. It might be as easy as swapping the NAVI controller (a box that might be in the trunk) but, till someone really investigates it, no one will know for sure. There is a lot of paper work you can do to see what parts are different...it might be a starting point.
With that being said, they are pretty close style wise (13 to 16), I would not be surprised that if it was just a box to be swapped... but, it's not going to be cheap to do it.
I know on my old 2001 LS430, I was able to swap out the DVD drive in the trunk and I got the 2004+ Navi system upgrade, although it didn't change anything else. it was a starting point.
Good luck...

You have to replace the whole unit.
Having had the 2013 system and the 2016-2017 system, not worth it. Basically the same, only real difference is the full screen map.

While the full map is nice, I'd still probably want to split the screen. A friend of mine just got an 18 ES350 with full screen option. He had it split, changed to full and now can't remember how to get it back. He prefers split. I tried and couldn't figure it out on the fly. But I'm sure it's not too tough.

Mine stays split most of the time.
