Default 2013+ LS Owners Chime In

I'm going to start looking to buy a 2013-2014 LS460. I had previously owned a 2004 Ultra. After that I was strongly considering a 2007-2012, but ultimately didn't after testing them.

Have the 2013+ solved some of the deficiencies of the 2007-2012 versions? (wind noise, problematic air shocks, control arms bushings, AWD driveline vibrations, etc).

Just wondering if there are any problem areas/issues that I need to be aware of during my shopping. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!!

1. Transmission whine on the 2013-2015. There's a TSB for this but only during the powertrain warranty period.
2. High pressure fuel pump tapping. All of the 2013+ cars do this but some are much louder than others.
3. Brake actuator - they still haven't solved this but it appears to be affecting fewer cars (mine was replaced after 3 years).

There's not much diifference for all practical purposes between the 2007-2012 and the 2013-2017 cars other than cosmetic. If you didn't like the 2017+ you probably won't like the 2013+.

Wind noise issues are solved. Control arms are better, a little early to say whether or not the issue has been solved. Air shocks are an issue with all vehicles with air shocks, they're actually more reliable on the 460 than the 430s. My 2015 AWD had no driveline vibrations at all. Sticky dash issues are solved

What was it about the 07-12 cars you didn't like? The improvements made in 13 did a lot for the car IMHO.

I was particularly disappointed with the interior...

Thats a huge improvement in the 2013+ cars, Materials are better, door panels and lower dash are stitched in all models, seats are better, more real metal trim, wood trims are more contemporary, etc. I'd recommend finding one with the semi-aniline leather option.

I just bought a 2013 LS 460 with ~ 55000 miles. There is a very loud wind noise coming from the driver side windshield starting from 35 mph speed. I reviewed the famous "LS 460 noise" thread and the "triangle fix" but I don't think the noise is coming from the driver side window but rather from the windshield. Any ideas what can be the cause?

Has the windshield been replaced recently? Perhaps it wasn't installed or sealed properly. Was the wind noise present during the test drive?
