Dash cam but... how bout ones that’s intergrated with rearview
‘gazer’ makes a replacement rearview with an intergrated dash cam, was thinking of getting that because I can’t drive through Austria with a visible dash cam it is illegal there. Anyways it’s about 300 euros... there are ones that clip over the existing rear view but doesn’t look as factory anyone tried something similar ?

Can't help you with your question, but Austria bans dash cams? What's the rationale there?

They have some real paranoia about "privacy rights". Not just Austria, either. Luxembourg and Portugal ban them outright as well and many other countries have use restrictions. In Austria, you're looking at a $10k Euro fine for a first offense. It's bizarre.

That is really nuts. You're out on public streets, what expectation does anyone have of privacy? So if you are walking on the street with your camcorder or cellphone, can't you take videos?
