Hi everyone, 2007 LS460 regular wheelbase with 110,000 miles ....
Today as I gently accelerated from a stop I felt the transmission slip for about a full second and then grab hold.
Car has been dealer serviced by the previous owner every 5000 miles from new, I see invoices with "check tranny"
So, I presume the tranny has had at least one drain and fill some 30,000 miles ago.
What kind of trouble am i in? What could possibly make the tranny slip presuming the fluid level is within spec?
Is there any testing I can do myself driving to duplicate it happening again, or just ignore this as "they all do it occasionally "?

LS460 Transmission shifts are pretty lazy and it sometime "hunts" thru its 8 gears.
Try resetting the computer by disconnecting the battery or pulling the ecu fuse for 30 minutes.
If you are an aggressive drive and then change one trying to get the most mpg, it sometimes confuses the computer.

This sounds like a shift flare. Was this right after you started moving after a cold restart? If so, no worries. LS’s are very prone to this. Mine does this almost every time I pull out of my office. It’s a slight uphill and as I go up, the trans slips. Lift your foot off the gas when it happens, then go again. No worries.

Check fluid level. I had mine backflushed at 70k miles at our local dealer and the trans shifts noticeably smoothef.
they do not recommend that for high mile cars but at yours I would have it done if the level is ok.
