Did you check the coolant level?
Also, check the radiator, make sure a plastic bag or something hasn't gotten stuck to it.
Once you get past that, I don't know...thermostat, maybe?

Have you verified that the car is actually overheating or are you just basing it off the temperature gauge in the car? the reason why I ask this is because my 2011 had a bad heater exchange plate which caused the car to go up all the way to hot but it wasn't actually overheating. Total to replace at dealer would have been $1548 without warranty and it included replacing heater exchange plate, intake gasket, throttle body gasket, and o-rings.

Regarding leaky water pumps - Very possible. My water pump was weeping out the bottom hole very slightly (about 83K miles). Over a 6 month period my coolant level dropped about 1.5" in reservior. I tool an inspection mirror and flashlight and seen alot of dry crusty pink residue on bottom of water pump - note, never seen a drop on garage floor. So, eBay special water pump and fresh coolant and now 104K miles and still going good.

Water pump leaking at 83,000 miles on a nine year old car is something I'd definitely consider being the problem. Get a flashlight and look for pink crusty staining around the water pump. Be very careful leaning over the radiator, there is a coolant bypass nipple that is plastic and EASILY breakable on the coolant reservoir.
