Default May need replacement hood struts.

Those air things that keep the hoot up, what are they called...
they seem to be failing... (edit:not important what they, see actual question below thanks )

should I go with factory ones or aftermarket ? If aftermarket any suggestions?

hood whatchamacallit? I notice you create a lot of junk threads. You could have Googled hood support, hood shocks, hood prop, hood lift at least and then asked us which one we recommend.

BTW I have those hood supports from Amazon, bought them 2 years ago. I damn near got uppercut by the hood popping up. They are very strong! I've been under the hood frequently (detailing engine and maintenance) and they are still going strong. The real test is how they perform in the winter in cold temps. They are still performing solid

You are right when they are warm. In the cold it slows down a lot. So you won't get your head taken off..

not knowing the name of the part is not the main point of the question, but which ones guys are using it have swapped to and are happy with. And making a list would serve what purpose? Would it not make more sense to ask if someone has swapped and to which

Btw everyone else, anyone used Armstrong struts? The require some ball joints to be put on instead of the factory bolts, I don’t think this is an issue but let me know if you heard different. Thanks

I think @JLAWS point was that a lot of the topics @jdanielca post about have already been discussed. @jdanielca can do a quick search and find a lot of information. For example, a quick search on this topic resulted in the following thread.

when one comments on old threads ppl moan about bringing back old threads when you make a new one they do the same, there’s no winning. If you feel that it’s been discussed to death (which it is not) don’t respond

Staying on point. I had Strong Arm hood struts for my beater Camry. They did not last long, but then again I was under the hood almost daily keeping the 23 year old Camry alive

I replaced mine with Strong Arm hood struts. Very easy DIY and the struts seem well built.

nice looks like that’s the brand to go with, I’ll have to find a source here but I can’t find the page for Armstrong themselves... last resort I shall have to buy from the US.
